We’re thrilled to announce that the first-ever NBA Basketball School Abu Dhabi Tournament from 4 – 6 October, 2023 featured three NBA Basketball School Australia teams who participated in a wide range of activities and made lifelong memories along the way.
The three-day event featured U15 players from NBA Basketball Schools from around the world, including those from Australia, Brazil, Kuwait, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to the opportunity to meet, get to know, and play against fellow NBA Basketball School players globally, the young athletes also had the unique experience of attending the highly anticipated NBA Abu Dhabi Games featuring the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Additionally, the NBA Basketball School players played at Etihad Arena (where the NBA teams played), competed in skills challenges and 3-point competitions, visited the Grand Mosque, attended fan events like NBA District, and engaged with NBA/WNBA legends like Tim Hardaway, Ticha Penicheiro, Ronny Turiaf, and Salah Mejri.
While we are proud of our boys’ and girls’ teams display of skills which earned gold medals and numerous individual accolades, the true win came from our players getting the opportunity to travel to a new country, develop new friendships, learn about different cultures, and experience the exciting activations around the Abu Dhabi Games.
At NBA Basketball School Australia, we remain committed to empowering youth across the country through basketball, offering elite training, experiences, and education. Our vision is to cultivate exceptional basketball and life skills, and provide opportunities for aspiring players nationwide.
The NBA Basketball School Australia’s philosophy is to share the game of basketball with young athletes by teaching skills, values, and wellness in a positive, fun and safe environment..
The holistic approach is intended to strengthen youth basketball culture and teach life lessons to inspire, connect and empower young athletes to succeed on and off the court. We believe this philosophy leads to the development of complete and well-rounded basketball players and strong role models in society.
The coaches will introduce and familiarise all student-athletes with NBA Basketball School Australia’s holistic development training methodology and techniques.
